These sculptures are meticulously handcrafted by Big Sky Carvers artists based on my own life experiences. Each Piece comes with a copy of the story from which it was inspired. Big whitetails amaze me. You can hunt and even live in the same area for years and never see an old mossy horn that has been there all along. There is also nothing more handsome in all of North American than a big, thick-horned whitetail buck. If it wasnt for the rut, when common sense seems to leave male deer, wed hardly ever see the big ones. But during that brief, crazy period, even the oldest, smartest buck in the county thinks and acts like a teenage boy at the senior prom. I have taken the biggest bucks of my life during the rut, and understanding the seasons within the rut, and how it affects a deers behavior, is the key to putting a trophy above the fireplace. These three monsters are not yet in the rut, but theyre storing up their energy for it, hiding out in a reclusive bachelors club and feeding under cover of night. Theyve been flushed by something, probably a farmer checking a fence or a water source.
