It has always been a dream to have a rustic country furniture store for owner, Gwen Pilato. Her parents were in the furniture/design business specializing in rustic antique primitives for over 30 years. She recalls waking up every morning to her mother and sister scouring over clients house plans designing and redesigning.

She not only sells the life style, she lives it! “I grew up having horses and living in the country. After living in the city for a while, my idea of returning to the country life permeated my every thought until it became a realization.”

Gwen travels extensively around the country to find the most unusual, unique, western, and mountain furnishings available today.

As a result of utilizing Santa Fe Ranch for interior design needs, many clients’ homes have been featured in numerous magazine publications including owner Gwen Pilato’s home.

“Designing the interiors of homes is more involved than one would think. It is important to me to have a thorough understanding of the client’s personality, life style, and design ideas before beginning the decorating process. It is not about what I would like. The choices made should reflect the owner’s personality. Being proud of your home and having your home reflect your personality is crucial to one’s self-esteem. We always offer a variety of choices and make suggestions. Touches of whimsy are fine, but we stress the importance of choosing timeless, quality pieces that the clients can live with for a long time.”
